You know, I’ve been thinking…(always a dangerous thing…)
And when Dumbledore says “And what will you give me in return, Severus?”, it’s like he’s asking for payment to help protect three people from Lord freaking Voldemort. What? I’m not saying that Severus shouldn’t be expected to do anything, because he should and he wants to, but if you think about it, the way Dumbledore says it is kind of dickish.

True, but you’re saying that now because we know Snape was actually honest when he said he wanted to join the Order. When he confronted Dumbledore, Dumbeldore didn’t know if he actually wanted that or if it was just Voldemort’s plan to infiltrate the Order and kill them all. He said that because he wanted to know if Snape was honest and genuine about joining the good side and he had every right to demand anything from Snape. Snape was dangerous and one of Voldemort’s top Death Eaters. JS.
I have a new love for Snape after everything was explained
